Ambani and Adani United to Boost Fuel Business
Billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani have joined forces to co-market automotive fuels. Jio-bp will supply petrol and diesel at Adani Total Gas’s CNG outlets, while ATGL will install CNG units at Jio-bp fuel stations. Covering existing and future outlets, the partnership aims to enhance fuel access and marks their second recent business collaboration.
Monsoon disrupted Coal Mining in Jharkhand

The Modi Cabinet has approved a revised Rs. 5,940 crore master plan for Jharia, Jharkhand, aimed to addressing underground coal fires and rehabilitating affected families. Around 1 lakh people are expected to benefit. The plan includes relocation, housing, and infrastructure upgrades.
HC Reviewed Plea on Illegal Mining by Panem
The Jharkhand High Court reviewed a PIL seeking a CBI probe into illegal mining by Panem Coal Mines and rehabilitation for displaced villagers. The state submitted records of action taken so far. Accusations include mining beyond permitted limits and revenue loss. The court, led by Justices Prasad and Chaudhary, has scheduled the next hearing for 10th July.

Jharkhand Power Supply Depends on Centre, Private Sources
Jharkhand’s electricity needs heavily depend on central and private power sources, as local plants like Patratu remain uncertain due to incomplete transmission lines. TVNL and Sikidiri plants can’t meet demand consistently. In 2025–26, the state will purchase Rs. 8,808 crore worth of power, mainly from NTPC and DVC. The long-delayed Patratu project, planned since 2015, is yet to begin production.

Maoist Arson Hit NTPC’s Rs. 35 Crore Project
Maoists torched seven vehicles involved in constructing a Rs. 35 crore coal transport road for NTPC’s Badam coal block in Barkagaon, causing major damage and halting work. The road, built by Puja Construction, was progressing rapidly before the attack. NTPC officials termed it a serious setback, and authorities are expected to provide full security support to resume construction soon.
MP Met CMD, Pushed 21-Point Demand
MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary met BCCL CMD in Dhanbad, discussing 21 demands, including compensation, jobs, health, education, and pollution control for Block-2 displaced families. He objected to illegal work by Hilltop Hiring Pvt. Ltd., prompting the CMD to halt operations immediately. Instructions were issued to curb coal theft and address demands within 15 days in support of ‘Viksit Bharat’ goals.
