Centre Reviewed Rs. 34000 Cr Projects of Jharkhand
The central government reviewed 11 key infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 34,213 crore in Jharkhand. Special focus was on the Patratu Thermal Power Project (Phase-1), aiming to generate 2,400 MW as part of a 4,000 MW plan. The meeting aimed to resolve delays and push progress. Officials from central ministries, Jharkhand government, and private partners participated in the review.
Jharkhand Imposes Rs. 1200 User Charge on Mineral Transport
Jharkhand’s Road Construction Dept. has started charging Rs. 1200 per trip as user fee on mineral transport by road. About 25,000 mineral transport bills are issued daily, generating Rs. 3 crore revenue daily. This charge may raise prices of coal, stone, and sand. Stone businessmen oppose linking charges with the GEM portal and plan to challenge it in court.
Factories Must Report Canteen & Rest House Details
Under the new Jharkhand Factory (Amendment) Rules, 2025, factories must provide details about canteen, creche, and rest house facilities in their annual return by 30th June. Non-compliance may lead to license cancellation. Mandatory provisions apply based on worker count. False or late submissions will attract fines or suspension. Appeals can be made online to the Labour Secretary within 30 days.
64 Police Inspectors Promoted to DSP in Jharkhand
The Jharkhand Government promoted 64 police inspectors to DSP rank to fill major vacancies. Out of 194 sanctioned posts, only 130 were filled earlier. Most new DSP posts are unreserved, with a few for SC/ST. The move is expected to boost police leadership and improve law enforcement across the state. The official promotion list includes officers from various districts.
Global Market Door Opened for Jharkhand Entrepreneurs
Jharkhand Chamber officials met Vietnam Chamber of Commerce leaders in Hanoi to strengthen trade ties. Both sides agreed to promote business partnerships and support small-medium enterprises. A joint platform for regular business exchanges was proposed. Union Fight at Hindalco Muri, Workers Protested for Rights
At Hindalco Muri, a fight started over control of the workers’ union. On 25th June, 89 workers were not allowed to join the union meeting and were stopped at the gate. They started a protest and sat on dharna. Meanwhile, the union held the meeting and elected leaders. Workers fear their fake signatures may be used for false support.
Nationwide Workers’ Strike on 9th July will be Historic
Trade unions and federations met in Ranchi to prepare for the nationwide workers strike on 9th July. Events include a 30th June protest at Sidho Kanhu Park, public meetings, torch rallies on 8th July, and joint planning with farmers. The strike opposes anti-worker labour codes and aims to spark a larger people’s movement. All unions urged to participate actively.
HEC Workers Push to Run Company Through Parliamentary Support

Villagers United Against NTPC Coal Project
In Badam, Hazaribagh, villagers strongly opposed the proposed NTPC coal project, shutting all shops in protest. A struggle committee was formed, warning of intensified agitation if land and rights are ignored. They vowed to socially boycott anyone giving land to companies.
