Ashok Kumar Sengal has taken charge as the new CEO of PVUNL, a joint venture of NTPC and JBVNL. With over 30 years of experience in the power sector, Sengal has held key roles in major NTPC projects and brings strong technical and leadership skills.
Ashok Kumar Sengal has officially taken over as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), a joint venture between NTPC Limited and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL). He assumed charge on 06th July 2025 at the project site, where he received warm welcome by the department heads and senior officials.

Mr. Sengal brings with him over three decades of rich experience in the power sector. He began his journey with NTPC in 1989 as an Executive Trainee (ET) and has since held several key leadership positions across some of NTPC’s most prestigious power projects, including Dadri, Mauda, Vindhyachal, and Talcher Kaniha.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sengal has contributed significantly in areas such as Operations, Condition Monitoring, Turbine Systems, and O&M (Operation and Maintenance). Known for his technical expertise and leadership skills, he has consistently delivered strong operational results and played a crucial role in driving efficiency and innovation within NTPC’s various projects.
His appointment as the CEO of PVUNL is expected to bring new energy and direction to the Patratu project, which is a major initiative aimed at strengthening power supply in Jharkhand and beyond.
