Fraud in Dumka Coal Block, MD Jailed and Company Fined
A CBI special court has sentenced Manoj Jaiswal, former MD of JAS Infrastructure & Capital Pvt. Ltd., to three years in jail and fined the company Rs. 1 crore for irregularities in the Dumka Kathikund coal block allocation. Judge Sanjay Bansal ruled that the company fraudulently obtained the Mahuagarhi coal block in Jharkhand through deceptive means.
CM Demanded Rs. 1.4 Lakh Crore Dues from Coal Firms
At the 27th Eastern Zonal Council meet in Ranchi, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren demanded a metro for Ranchi and early clearance of Rs. 1.4 lakh crore dues from coal companies. He also sought higher PM housing funds and central aid for RIMS-2. Key water-sharing disputes between Bihar and Jharkhand were resolved, and discussions emphasized regional cooperation and fighting Naxalism.
CCL, GCML Signed Deal for India’s First BOO Coking Coal Washery
