The Bill simplifies TDS, exemptions, and compliance rules, and allows individuals to claim refunds without penalties for delayed filings, amid ongoing opposition disruptions.
Coal Mine Voids Turned into Source of Clean Water
CMPDI, under Coal India, mapped 437 coal mine voids nationwide, finding 2,760 lakh kilolitres of usable water annually. With moderate treatment, it can serve domestic, industrial, and agricultural needs. Twenty-two pilot projects, including in Jharkhand, aim to reuse mine water, supporting UN SDGs and boosting community water security.

In 2024-25, Jharkhand’s exports surged to Rs. 16,644 crore, lifting its national rank from 21st to 17th. Electrical energy, led by Adani Power’s Godda plant, contributed 43% of exports—mostly to Bangladesh. Accused in the Ranchi land scam involving army land, ex-Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan approached the Supreme Court for bail after both PMLA court and Jharkhand High Court rejected his plea.
