Ahead of the renewal of Tata Steel’s land lease with the Jharkhand Administration, five teams constituted by the Deputy Commissioner’s office will verify land documents from Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 and prepare a detailed report on their findings. The verification process aims to determine whether there have been any changes in the land allotted to Tata Steel under the existing lease. Specifically, the teams will check if land allotted under Schedule 3 for civic amenities has been converted to commercial use, and will assess the present status of 1789.810 acres of vacant land listed in Schedule 5, including any encroachments or legal/illegal constructions.
