The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Priya Ranjan as the new Director In-Charge of Bokaro Steel Plant. He was selected after a thorough process that included 12 candidates, and he will now lead one of India’s biggest steel plants.
Priya Ranjan, presently Executive Director (Operations) at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) headquarters, brings over three decades of experience spanning technical, operational and administrative roles. An alumnus of BIT Sindri, he began his career with Indian Iron and Steel Company (IISCO) Steel Plant in 1994 and later worked in critical departments such as Steel Melting Shop and Production Planning & Control. He was promoted as Deputy General Manager in 2016, followed by a stint as Technical Assistant to the Executive Director (Works). In 2017, he moved to SAIL headquarters, where he handled multiple assignments, including Chairman Secretariat.
Ranjan was promoted to Executive Director (Operations) in 2024 before being chosen for his new role. His appointment is expected to bring clear direction and smooth operations to Bokaro Steel Plant
