The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Govindpur has decided to launch an agitation against the NuvoCo Cement Plant, alleging that the company has failed to fulfil its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments. The decision came at a mandal (circle) level meeting held at Swami Sahajanand Saraswati Sansthan, chaired by Mandal president Pawan Singh.
Leaders Accused Company of Ignoring CSR
BJP leaders and workers present at the meeting discussed that the cement plant has not carried out any welfare activities for local communities under CSR, despite repeated demands. They expressed strong resentment against what they described as the company’s rigid attitude towards local problems. Participants resolved that protests would continue until NuvoCo management addressed the concerns of villagers and extended benefits to the community.
