Jharkhand Minister Hafizul Hasan Hospitalised, Condition Stable After Health Scare
Jharkhand Minority Affairs and Water Resources Minister Hafizul Hasan Ansari, 50, was admitted to Paras Hospital, Ranchi, on Wednesday after breathing difficulties. Initially serious, his condition has stabilised, with doctors detecting only a mild lung infection. CM Hemant Soren and senior leaders visited the hospital. Hasan, who underwent heart surgery in July, remains under 24-hour medical observation.
Displaced Commission to Be Formed Soon After Cabinet Nod: Minister Birua
Jharkhand Minister Deepak Birua assured the Assembly that the long-pending Displaced Commission will be constituted soon after cabinet approval. Responding to JLKM MLA Jairam Mahato’s concerns, Birua said the process is complete and efforts are underway to finalise it before the winter session. HC Rejects Petition of Ex-CM Madhu Koda’s Aide in Corruption Case
The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition by Babulal Manoj Punamiya, aide to former CM Madhu Koda, seeking discharge from an Enforcement Directorate money laundering case. The plea was earlier rejected by a special ED court in 2012. With the HC order, the trial linked to alleged corruption during Koda’s regime will now proceed in the lower court.
Tata Steel Finalises 16.69% Bonus Deal, Rs. 303.13 Crore to Be Distributed
Tata Steel signed its annual bonus agreement, granting employees a 16.69% bonus worth ₹303.13 crore. Around 25,907 employees across Jamshedpur plant, Kalinganagar, West Bokaro, Joda, and other units will benefit. Old Series workers will receive up to ₹3.92 lakh, while NS grade staff get a maximum of ₹1.10 lakh. The payout, higher than initial estimates, will be credited on 6th September.
SAIL Accused of Using Outsiders to Assault Raiyats in Dhanbad Land Row
In Jharkhand Assembly, MLA Mathura Mahato alleged SAIL hired men from Madhya Pradesh to assault raiyats in Dhanbad’s Asanbani during land acquisition. CCL Moves Ahead With Rajrappa Block-2 Expansion After 12-Year Delay
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has begun talks with villagers of Dhawaiya and Simarabera in Bokaro district to resolve compensation, employment, and rehabilitation concerns for its long-stalled Block-2 coal project. The Jharkhand Government has formed a high-level committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, to investigate alleged irregularities in land acquisition for Adani Power in Godda. Land acquisition, compensation, jobs, and construction of buildings and mine entry points were completed, with over ₹21 lakh paid to the forest department. Employees from the closed Huntar Colliery were shifted here and paid salaries for years. Yet, operations never started, raising questions on delays despite earlier brief coal production.
