The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) announced that the process to appoint a new Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Coal India Limited will be held on 20th September 2025. A total of 11 senior executives from Coal India and other leading public sector undertakings have been shortlisted to appear before the board through video conferencing.

Many Senior Executives from CIL & PSU Shortlisted
The names include CIL Director (Marketing) Mukesh Choudhary, Northern Coalfields Limited CMD B. Sairam, Central Coalfields Limited CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh, and Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Ltd CMD Indradev Narayan. The list also features Nalco Director (Production) Pankaj Kumar Sharma, NMDC Directors Viswanath Suresh (Commercial) and Vinay Kumar (Technical), besides IOCL Director (Finance) Anuj Jain, PFC Executive Director (Projects) Hemant Kumar Das, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (Rajkot) Alok Singh, and Railway CAO (Treasury & Reconciliation) Dr. Pudi Hariprasad.

PSEB Directed for Presentation of Achievements
The PESB has directed candidates to prepare a four to six-slide presentation covering their achievements and vision for Coal India’s future. In addition, aspirants must submit the past ten years of Annual Confidential Reports (ACR) and Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APAR), vigilance profiles, and other mandatory documents for evaluation.
