Neha Srivastava from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, carved her name among the country’s top achievers by securing All India Rank 12 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination in 2015. Her success earned her a place in the Indian Forest Service (IFS), where she continues to serve with distinction.
Born on 2nd March 1990, Neha completed her schooling at Ramakrishna Mission in Deoghar before pursuing a B.Tech in Biotechnology from DY Patil College. After her graduation, she turned her focus towards UPSC preparation, one of the toughest competitive examinations in the country, undertaken by lakhs of aspirants each year.

Entry into IFS and Current Role
Neha’s remarkable performance in the 2015 exam led to her induction into the IFS in 2016. She formally took charge as a Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) on 29th August 2016. Over the years, she has been entrusted with crucial assignments related to forest management and conservation. Since 3rd August 2021, Neha has been posted as DFO of the South Division in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. Known for her dedication to forest protection and administrative clarity, she stands as an inspiration for young aspirants from Jharkhand and beyond, showing how perseverance and focus can turn ambition into achievement.
