Tata Power’s subsidiary Maithon Power Limited (MPL) has started a free vocational training center in Nirsa, Dhanbad, in collaboration with Lok Bharati Education Society. The initiative aims to provide skill training to around 300 rural youth from 30–35 villages, empowering them to secure meaningful employment and contribute to the region’s socio-economic growth.

The center will run specialised courses for Assistant Electricians, Home Solution Technicians, and Data Entry Operators. All programmes will be completely free of cost, equipped with modern laboratories, industry-standard toolkits, and practical modules. Apart from technical skills, participants will receive training in communication, discipline, and workplace ethics to make them job-ready.

MPL’s Chief Financial Officer, Anshuman Chakraborty, said the initiative is intended to help rural youth gain respectable employment opportunities, not only locally but also in Delhi-NCR and other major cities. The training is expected to bridge the gap between rural talent and mainstream industry, creating pathways for sustainable livelihoods.

The vocational center is part of Tata Power’s broader mission to empower socially and economically weaker sections. By aligning with the Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat campaigns, MPL seeks to strengthen rural participation in India’s economic development, contributing to both local upliftment and national growth.
