Jharkhand Government transferred 30 IPS officers in a major reshuffle. Rakesh Ranjan is the new SSP of Ranchi, replacing Chandan Kumar Sinha, now DIG ACB. Paras Rana is City SP Ranchi, and Rakesh Singh is SP Traffic. DGP Anuraag Gupta has been relieved of additional charge of ACB and CID. ADG Priya Dubey now heads ACB, while IG Manoj Kaushik takes charge of CID.
Coal India’s New Chairman to Be Announced Today After PESB Interviews
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) will hold interviews today to finalize Coal India Limited’s new chairman. Eleven candidates, including CMDs of NCL, CCL, MECON, and CIL Director (Marketing) Mukesh Choudhary, have been shortlisted. Coal sector employees expect an internal appointment. The official recommendation will follow the interviews.
Jharkhand Drafts First Land Allotment Policy, Cabinet Approval Soon
Jharkhand is finalizing its first-ever Land Allotment Policy to ease industrial land access, allowing direct allotment or auction to top global firms, MSMEs, PSUs, and JVs. Districts will be graded into four categories, plots defined from micro to largest sizes, and four committees will oversee pricing, clearances, and approvals for transparent, faster industrial growth.
Hazaribagh’s Rajesh Agrawal Appointed Commerce Secretary, To Take Charge on 30th Sept
Rajesh Agrawal, a 1994-batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre and native of Hazaribagh, has been appointed Secretary in the Union Ministry of Commerce. He will assume charge on September 30. Son of businessman and social worker Radheshyam Agrawal, he studied at St. Xavier’s School, Hazaribagh, before joining the civil services.
Rakha Copper Mines to Reopen After 24 Years, 20-Year Lease Signed
Jharkhand Government and Hindustan Copper Limited signed a 20-year lease deed to revive the historic Rakha Copper Mines in East Singhbhum. Target: 3 million tonnes of ore annually with a new concentrator plant. The project is expected to create nearly 10,000 jobs, boost the regional economy, and ensure environmentally responsible mining.

Only 44,000 contract workers are covered under corporate salary packages, limiting access to the additional Rs. 40 lakh insurance benefits.
