DMFT and NMET Funds Swell
The District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) fund received Rs. 941.39 crore, while the National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) collected Rs. 66.23 crore. These funds are meant for community development, rehabilitation, and exploration work in mining-affected regions, and their growing size is expected to improve welfare initiatives in affected districts.
Officials said that the record revenue shows the impact of the JMBL Act and efficient royalty administration. With Coal and Iron ore continuing to dominate Jharkhand’s mining economy, the State Government is expected to channel part of this revenue towards infrastructure and social development projects, particularly in mining-affected areas.
