The Jharkhand Cabinet, chaired by CM Hemant Soren, approved 27 proposals including permanent transfer of 271.92 acres of non-forest land in Noamundi to Hindalco for compensatory afforestation against diverted forest land for the Chakla coal block, on payment of ₹29.40 crores. A GoM will review Saranda sanctuary proposal and its social, economic, livelihood impact on tribal communities.
