At the National PR Conclave–2025 organized in Ranchi by Central Coalfields Limited, senior officials from Coal India Limited highlighted the growing importance of positive and responsible communication in shaping public perception. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Personnel), CIL, said that corporations must proactively share stories of progress and social impact to counter misinformation and negativity. He added that CCL’s sports promotion initiative, run in partnership with the Jharkhand Government, as an example of how corporate outreach can inspire confidence among communities.

Event Celebrated 50 Years of Coal India
The conclave also marked 50 years of Coal India’s journey, with the release of a special postal cover and souvenir “Nav Chetna” by CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh, Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Mishra, and Director (HR) Harsh Nath Mishra. Speaking on the occasion, Singh remarked that “a postage stamp is not just a piece of paper, it carries emotions” He said communication must retain its sincerity and depth, despite evolving mediums. Director (HR) Mishra described public relations as the “spine of any institution,” connecting organisations directly with people through CSR, safety and energy initiatives.

Speakers Stressed Honest Communication in the AI Era
Eastern Coalfields CMD Satish Jha spoke of honesty, empathy and strategy as the triad of modern communication, while Prahlad Kakkar, the keynote speaker, urged communicators to overcome fear, saying, “Victory lies beyond fear.” He noted that an organisation’s true identity is not defined by its size but by the trust it earns through consistent communication. The session titled “Positive Media Mastery: Craft Your Brand Story”, addressed by Sanjeev Shekhar, Head of Corporate Affairs at Adani Power Limited, focused on building brand value through thoughtful engagement. “People’s opinion about you in your absence defines your real image,” he said.

Young PR Professionals Engaged in Dialogue with Industry Leaders
The conclave concluded with an interactive session between students and communication professionals, where young participants from universities across Ranchi discussed the evolving role of creativity and ethics in media. In his closing remarks, Alok Kumar Gupta, Head of Corporate Communication & PR at CCL, thanked all participants, describing the event as “a confluence of ideas and a platform shaping the future of public relations.”
