A major reshuffle is on the cards in the Jharkhand Police as the State Government prepares to promote 16 IPS officers across various ranks. The Police Headquarters has finalized the proposal and forwarded it to the Home Secretary for approval. Once cleared by the Government, an official notification will be issued, paving the way for new appointments in several key positions.

Manoj Kaushik to Be Elevated as ADG
Senior IPS officer Manoj Kaushik (2001 batch), presently serving as Ranchi Zonal IG and holding additional charge as CID IG, is set to be promoted to the rank of Additional Director General (ADG). Alongside him, three 2008 batch officers, Anish Gupta (on central deputation as CBI DIG), M. Tamilvanan (posted at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad), and Ajay Linda (DIG, Home Guards & Fire Services) are being considered for promotion to the Inspector General (IG) rank.

Five Officers to Become DIG; Six to Get Selection Grade
The proposal also includes five officers who will be elevated to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rank. These include Kusum Punia (2010 batch) and 2012-batch officers Kishore Kaushal, Akhilesh V. Warrier, Anjani Kumar Jha, Mohammad Arshi, and Anand Prakash. In addition, six SP-rank officers from the 2013 batch, Hurdeep P. Janardhan, Nidhi Dwivedi, Anshuman Kumar, Prashant Anand, Harilal Chauhan, and one other will be placed in the Selection Grade category.

Reshuffle Expected to Bring Administrative Changes
The promotion exercise is expected to trigger a major administrative reshuffle in the police hierarchy. Several new postings are likely once the promotions take effect, particularly at zonal, range, and district levels. Sources in the Police Headquarters indicated that the move is part of a routine promotion cycle aimed at filling higher-rank vacancies and strengthening leadership positions within the state’s law enforcement framework.
