Operations restarted following lease renewal and state approvals. Around 10,000 tonnes of ore are ready for transport to Musabani concentrator, with full production expected soon—boosting employment, local economy, and state mining revenues.
Bokaro Steel Plant Launches Free Coaching for Local Youth Under CSR Initiative

Sand Mining Auction Completed in 15 Jharkhand Districts, Process Underway in Nine Others
Out of 444 Sand Ghats in Jharkhand, auctions have been completed in 15 districts, while nine districts are still undergoing the tender process. Despite the NGT lifting its ban, the Jharkhand High Court has maintained a stay on sand allotment till 30th October due to pending PESA rules. Sand supply is currently being managed through imports from Bihar.
NTPC Directs Each Transport Firm to Move 2500 Tonnes of Fly Ash Daily
NTPC management has instructed all transport companies to carry at least 2,500 tonnes of fly ash daily from its Tandwa plant to prevent ash accumulation. The directive, effective till 30th October, comes amid reports of poor performance by some contractors. With 27–30 thousand tonnes of coal consumed daily, the plant generates about 40% ash, prompting strict monitoring by district authorities.
Fly Ash Transport Halt at BTPS and CTPS May Trigger Power Crisis in Seven Jharkhand Districts
Fly ash transport from Bokaro Thermal (BTPS) and Chandrapura (CTPS) plants has been suspended for 97 days due to wage disputes with transporters, leaving 85% of ash ponds filled. With limited storage left, power generation could halt within days, affecting electricity supply in Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Deoghar, and Dumka districts. DVC officials are working to resolve the issue.

Murder, Kidnapping, and Rape Cases Rise in Jharkhand: CID Report
Jharkhand CID’s comparative report to the Chief Secretary and Home Secretary revealed an increase in murder, abduction, and rape cases in August 2025 compared to July and last year. Murder cases rose to 121 from 116, and kidnappings for ransom increased from six to eight. However, robbery, burglary, and vehicle theft cases showed a noticeable decline.
Only Senior Officers Can Order Social Media Content Removal Under New IT Rules
From 1st November 2025, only senior officials—Joint Secretary or DIG rank and above—can issue takedown orders to social media platforms, the Ministry of Electronics and IT announced. The amendment to Rule 3(1)(d) of the IT Rules, 2021, ends the practice of junior officers directing removals. The ministry also proposed rules to curb deepfakes.
