Administrative Shuffle Sparked Discontent Among Locals
The civil department reportedly stopped functioning after Banerjee was transferred to SAIL’s HRD division on the orders of former Chief General Manager Kamal Bhaskar. The move followed an incident on 12th June, when a worker, Kanu Ram Champia, died while working on a roofing project. Since then, the Electrical Engineering division has been temporarily overseeing civil works, but locals and employees said that the arrangement has been ineffective.
