NCC Limited has secured a monumental order worth Rs. 6,828.94 crores from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, for extraction and transportation of coal and overburden from the Amrapali open-cast coal mining project in Jharkhand. The Hyderabad based infrastructure company today announced the development through a regulatory filing, stated that the approval was formalized via a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) dated 24th October 2025.

Amrapali Project to Deploy Heavy Mining Machinery
The Amrapali mining block, located in Jharkhand, is one of Coal India’s critical assets under the Central Coalfields zone. As part of the contract, NCC will undertake the removal of more than 413 million cubic metres of overburden, alongside the extraction and transportation of substantial coal volumes. The operations will employ Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) and advanced mechanized systems, reinforcing NCC’s technical capabilities in large scale mining.

Largest Order in Recent Years for NCC Limited
The contract is one of the largest single value mining contracts awarded to NCC in the past few years, highlighted the company’s growing role in India’s mining and infrastructure landscape. The order strengthens NCC’s position in the coal sector, coming at a time when Coal India and its subsidiaries are intensifying efforts to ramp up domestic coal output to meet power sector demands and reduce dependence on imports.
