Kanakani Shows Visible Progress
At the Kanakani Colliery, the CMD expressed satisfaction over the visible turnaround in operations. “Six months ago, there was nothing visible here, but today the presence of coal itself reflects progress,” he remarked. He noted that the colliery has seen a marked increase in the number of machines and heavy vehicles, with production activities now moving at war footing. The CMD also set a target of 10 lakh tonnes of coal production annually, aiming for an overall output of 84 lakh tonnes in seven years if current momentum continues.

Focus on Speed, Safety, and Accountability
Officials accompanying the CMD said the visit has instilled renewed motivation among staff and contractors. Agarwal reiterated that the company’s focus remains on improving efficiency, safety, and accountability at every level. He appreciated the proactive efforts of the Sijua Area team and encouraged them to sustain the pace of progress. According to company sources, Ram Avatar Group, the outsourcing firm managing Kanakani operations, had lagged behind earlier targets, but the CMD’s visit is expected to reinvigorate production and discipline at the site.
