Jharkhand Plans Dedicated MSME Directorate to Boost Industrial Growth
The Jharkhand government plans to establish a dedicated MSME Directorate this financial year to support over seven lakh registered enterprises. The initiative aims to simplify approvals, speed up incentive claims and provide single-window services. The state is also pursuing a World Trade Centre, Unity Mall and product-based industrial clusters to attract investment and strengthen exports.
CISF Intensifies Crackdown on Coal Theft, Registered 21 Cases
Under the Union Home Ministry’s Zero Coal Leakage campaign, CISF seized nearly 1,799 metric tonnes of illegally mined or transported coal worth about 1.08 crore across Jharkhand in three weeks. The force also confiscated 84 vehicles and registered 21 cases, using intelligence, CCTV surveillance and coordinated operations to curb coal theft and illegal transportation.
BCCL Falls Behind Coal Production Target, Seven Areas Underperformed
Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) is lagging behind its coal production and dispatch targets for the current financial year, prompting daily reviews by the company’s headquarters. CID Files Chargesheet Against Alleged Mastermind in JUUNL FD Scam
The CID has filed a supplementary chargesheet against Arghya Sengupta, alleging he masterminded the 40.5 crore fixed deposit fraud involving Jharkhand Urja Utpadan Nigam Limited. Investigators accused him of criminal conspiracy, opening fake bank accounts and diverting funds. The probe, covering multiple state entities, has uncovered alleged financial irregularities worth nearly 115.9 crore.
