The Jharkhand Cabinet is scheduled to meet at 3 pm on Tuesday at Project Bhawan in Ranchi under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The meeting is expected to take up several policy and administrative matters, with the proposal to convene the Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Assembly likely to remain the central focus. Decisions on education, drinking water and public welfare initiatives are also expected to figure in the agenda.
Assembly Session Proposal May Come Up for Approval
According to government sources, the Cabinet may consider a proposal to call the Monsoon Session of the Assembly if it reaches the Cabinet Department before the meeting. Once approved, the Government is expected to announce the dates and duration of the session, where several legislative and administrative matters are likely to be taken up for discussion.

The Cabinet is also expected to deliberate on a proposal to exempt students suffering from thalassaemia and other serious illnesses from the mandatory 75% attendance requirement. The move is aimed at helping students who frequently miss classes due to prolonged medical treatment and repeated hospital visits, allowing them to continue their education without facing academic hardship.
JJM 2.0 and Other Development Proposals on Agenda
Another important item likely to come before the Cabinet is the post-facto approval of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 2.0, following the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Centre and the Jharkhand Government on 22nd June 2026. The mission seeks to strengthen sustainable rural drinking water supply through Centre and State partnership, and community participation. Officials said more than two dozen proposals covering administrative, financial and development matters are also expected to be discussed, with the government’s decisions likely to have a direct impact on public welfare and governance across the state.
