
A Gram Sabha meeting has been organized at the Bariyatu Amarwadih Panchayat at Barwadih Latehar to discuss the proposed 491 MW Thermal Power Plant by M/s MS Steel and Power Limited. The meeting, chaired by Panchayat head Sushila Devi in the presence of Mr. Rajeev Mukherjee, General Manager of MS Group. Mr. Mukherjee provided a detailed information about the upcoming project.

General Manager, Mr. Mukherjee also shared that the company is currently operating several plants in Jharkhand, Bengal, and Odisha. The new 491 MW thermal power plant will be established in Barwadih, located within the Amarwadih Panchayat. He requested to the villagers for their support and cooperation. Mukherjee assured that those who provide land for the plant would be fairly compensated as per the policy. Additionally, the project will also provide various facilities such as employment, education, healthcare, and road development to the area. All landowners (raiyats) will receive equal benefits. Moreover, an ambulance service will be introduced in the village starting from the day of the ground-breaking ceremony.
Local Leaders were Present during the Gram Sabha
Mohammad Raja, the Hazaribagh District President of the Labor Union, expressed optimism that the plant would bring prosperity to the region and provide employment to the local people. During the meeting, local leaders such as Pramukh Urmila Devi, Panchayat head Sushila Devi, Dhaneshwar Oraon, and landowner Mohammad Saifullah all voiced their support for the project. A large number of local villagers also attended the meeting and showed their support for the proposed power plant.
