Rajeev Jhawar, MD of Usha Martin, surrendered in court over charges related to illegal mining and fraudulent allocation of mines in 2005. The CBI had filed a chargesheet against him and others in January 2023. The court granted him conditional bail with a bond and passport submission requirement.
ED Arrested Coal Businessman for Embezzling Rs. 9.39 Crore
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested coal trader Pramod Kumar Singh for an embezzlment of Rs. 9.39 crore from the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) funds. Singh, who failed to respond to 12 summons, was presented in court, where he was granted three days remand. ED had seized his assets, including vehicles purchased with the embezzled funds.
