The case was reviewed by a bench comprising Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad and Justice Gautam Kumar Chaudhary. During the hearing, the state government’s counsel informed the court that detailed records of all legal actions taken so far against Panem Coal Mines had been submitted. Following the submission, the court scheduled the next hearing for 10th July.
Panem Coal Mines was granted a mining lease in 2015 to operate in the Pakur and Dumka districts. However, the company is accused of exceeding the approved mining limits, causing substantial revenue loss to the state government. Advocate Ram Subhag Singh filed the PIL highlighting these issues and seeking court intervention.
