Nuvoco Cement’s Jojobera plant finalized a five-year wage agreement for contract workers, effective from 1st January 2025. Daily wages increased by Rs. 131.94 to Rs. 197.93 based on skill level. Allowances were revised retroactively from 2021, ensuring better income and long-term benefits for the workers.
A new wage agreement has been finalized between the management of Nuvoco Cement’s Jojobera plant and trade unions, bringing a substantial salary hike for contract workers. As per the agreement, daily wages have been increased by a minimum of Rs. 131.94 and a maximum of Rs. 197.93, depending on the skill category. The revised wages have come into effect from 1st January 2025 and will remain valid for the next five years, until 31st December 2029. Additionally, the revised allowances have been made effective retrospectively from 1st January 2021, giving financial benefits for the past period as well.

This revision marks a considerable improvement in daily earnings for contract workers, ensuring better income security and recognition of their skills and contributions.
The agreement was formally signed between representatives of Nuvoco Cement’s management, labour contractors, and multiple trade unions. Key representatives from the management side, who signed the agreement include Ankit Raj Singh (Jayshankar Singh & Co.), Suvajit Mukherjee (Mega Marketing), Representatives of Zenith Engineering, Arnab Kumar Basu (VP – HR, Nuvoco Cement), Rajeev Kumar Mishra (GM – HR & Admin), Sameer Kumar (Deputy Manager – HR). From the Union Side, Rakeshwar Pandey (President, JCP Employees Union), Bijay Khan (General Secretary), Vinay Kumar Trivedi (Deputy President), Sanjeev Srivastava (Vice President), Ambuj Kumar Thakur (General Secretary, Cement Kamgar Union), And other senior members like Satendra Singh, ML Khatri, Renu Murmu, Krishna Kamat, Baiju Dixit, Anil Mahato and others were present.
