Hazaribagh MP Manish Jaiswal met NTPC chairman Gurdeep Singh on 5th August, presented long‑standing grievances from villages displaced by coal and energy projects. He said that thousands of families remain unsettled despite years of development and called for NTPC to emulate Central Coalfields Ltd’s employment practices.
MP Demanded Fair Compensation
Mr. Jaiswal urged NTPC to double per‑acre compensation from Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 40 lakh to match current land values. He also asked the company to scrap the 2016 cut‑off date limiting eligibility for resettlement benefits and to offer permanent jobs to displaced families, ensuring parity with CCL policies.

Beyond compensation, the MP emphasized sustainable livelihood opportunities and environmental safeguards.
