Production Pressure Ahead
BCCL faces a challenging production scenario, particularly with the closure of SAIL’s Jitpur colliery, which is expected to increase demand for coking coal from the neighboring Bokaro Steel Plant. The company is also contending with the impact of an unusually heavy monsoon this year, which has disrupted operations in two to three mining areas. Mr. Agrawal acknowledged the rainfall-related challenges but expressed confidence in recovering lost production over the next two months as weather conditions improve. “We will work together with strength and cooperation to put BCCL firmly on the path of growth,” he said.
