Hindalco’s CSR unit at the Lohardaga Mines Division has been conferred the FAME National Award 2025 in the Diamond Category for innovative CSR practices. The recognition, presented in Delhi, highlights Hindalco’s Aviraal Dhara Project, which focuses on channelising natural water sources to ensure sustainable drinking water supply in rural Jharkhand. The initiative currently benefits 502 families across six villages in Gumla and Lohardaga districts.
Outstanding Project for Access to Drinking Water
The award was given for Hindalco’s outstanding contribution to addressing drinking water scarcity in villages such as Nindi, Tuimu, Barangpat, Kechki and Kor Kotta. Under Aviral Dhara, perennial natural water sources have been channeled and managed to ensure reliable access to households, reducing dependency on seasonal or irregular water supply. This project has been widely acknowledged as a sustainable community driven model.

Villagers Also Participated for the Success
Expressing delight at the recognition, Hindalco’s Head (Mines & Minerals) B.K. Jha said the achievement was the result of collective effort and villagers’ active participation. He reiterated the company’s commitment to community development and expansion of such projects in other regions. The initiative was spearheaded by Hindalco’s CSR Head Neeraj Kumar, with dedicated support from the CSR team. The recognition reinforces Hindalco’s standing as a corporate committed to inclusive growth in its operational areas.
