The Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) successfully extradited most-wanted criminal Mayank Singh alias Sunil Singh Meena from Azerbaijan and brought him to Ranchi on 23rd August 2025. Escorted under heavy security, Mayank Singh arrived at Birsa Munda Airport and transferred to Ramgarh, where he will be present in court. The ATS will seek his custody for interrogation.
Mayank Singh Wanted in 48 Cases
According to police headquarters, 48 criminal cases are on Manyank Singh in Jharkhand, with the highest concentration in Hazaribagh district across Barkagaon, Keredari, Korra and Hazaribagh Sadar police stations. Additional cases are registered in Ranchi, Ramgarh, Palamu and Giridih, while police in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan also have pending cases against him. The Police officers have reviewed all case files to get evidence and witness statements ready for trial.

Mayank Singh Extradited to India After Arrest in Azerbaijan
The extradition process began after a Red Corner Notice was issued in connection with Ramgarh’s Patratu (Bhadani Nagar) case No. 175/22. Mayank Singh was detained in Azerbaijan on 29 October 2024 and subsequently tried at the Baku Criminal Court. On 27 January 2025, the court approved his extradition to India, following which the Ministry of External Affairs and CBI coordinated with Jharkhand ATS to complete formalities. He was officially handed over to Indian authorities on 22 August 2025.
