Director Said, No Safety Lapses will be Tolerated
The suspension order has sent shockwaves across the plant. Director Verma conveyed a firm message that no negligence in safety matters will be tolerated. Sources said the move is aimed at setting an example for strict accountability within the plant, which has witnessed safety-related concerns in the past. The incident has also reignited debates around the use of unskilled contract workers in hazardous operations at steel plants. Labour unions and local representatives have long raised concerns over inadequate training, safety gear, and welfare facilities provided to contract employees.
