In a move to strengthen women’s participation in the industrial workforce, Tata Motors inaugurated a dedicated LP Trim Line at its Plant Three in Jamshedpur, operated entirely by women employees. The initiative was formally launched in the presence of senior management and union leaders, handing over the operational command of the line to the women workforce.

Union and Management Leaders Expressed Confidence
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Plant Head Sunil Tiwari, Tata Motors Workers’ Union President Shashi Bhushan Prasad, General Secretary R.K. Singh, Division Head Kiran Narendran, HR Head Pranav Kumar, and other senior officials. Speaking on the occasion, the leaders commended the commitment of women employees and expressed confidence that they would run the line efficiently and safely.
Women Employees Assured Production Targets
After the inauguration, the Plant Head interacted with the women employees on the shop floor, stressing the importance of safety, discipline, and teamwork. He also instructed the line in-charge to carry out minor improvements wherever required. The women employees, in turn, assured the management that they would work with full dedication to meet production targets while maintaining workplace discipline.
Union leaders termed the initiative as a reflection of Tata Motors’ progressive approach and a milestone towards gender inclusivity in the manufacturing sector. “Our sisters have already proved their potential from grassroots to space. Given opportunities, they can excel in any field,” General Secretary R.K. Singh remarked. He further urged the employees to set an example by ensuring zero accidents in the coming year. Union President Shashi Bhushan Prasad also expressed faith that the women workforce would manage the line independently and smoothly, reinforcing the importance of safety at work.
