Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has commissioned a modern hydraulic scissor lift to strengthen safety measures in maintenance activities carried out at height. The equipment was inaugurated by Chief General Manager (CED) Shaligram Singh and Chief General Manager (Safety & Fire Services) Vipin Krishna Sartaape in the presence of senior officers and employees.

Safer Alternative to Scaffolding
The Civil Engineering Department at BSL is responsible for renovation of buildings, repair of pipelines and windows, roof guniting, and trimming of trees within the plant premises. These tasks, until now, were performed using temporary scaffolding, a practice considered time taking and risky for workers.

Scissor Lift Operated Through a Hydraulic System
The newly introduced scissor lift is operated through a hydraulic system and comes equipped with safety railings, ensuring a stable and secure platform for employees engaged in maintenance. The plant management expects the equipment to enhance worker safety and significantly improve efficiency in operations carried out at elevated heights.
