Hindalco Industries Limited, the Aditya Birla Group’s metal flagship, celebrated Saarthi Utsav 2025 today at its Pakhar Mines to recognise the role of truck drivers in mining operations. More than 250 drivers attended the event.
DC Said, Drivers are Mining’s Lifeline
District Commissioner Dr. Kumar Tarachand said truck drivers form the most crucial link in the mining chain. By naming them “Saarthi,” Hindalco has given them not only a new identity but also dignity, he noted. He urged drivers to carry out their responsibilities with greater seriousness, as their work directly impacts the smooth functioning of the industry.

Call for Efficiency and Discipline
Superintendent of Police Sadiq Rizvi said that drivers must focus on improving efficiency and maintaining discipline on roads. He thanked Hindalco for organising Saarthi Utsav, saying such initiatives encourage workers and raise their morale.
Hindalco’s Leadership Recognised Drivers as Family
Hindalco’s Head of Mining and Minerals, B.K. Jha, said that truck drivers are indispensable partners, the company’s success depends on their contribution. Logistics Head Sukantha Das said Hindalco is committed to improving drivers’ quality of life and Saarthi Utsav was designed to create direct dialogue, extend respect, and strengthen trust.

Hindalco and CDRM Honoured 25 Drivers
As part of the event, 25 drivers selected by the Centre for Driver Relations Management (CDRM) and Hindalco were felicitated for their adherence to safety rules, discipline, and quality service. Drivers shared their experiences and expressed gratitude towards Hindalco’s management. The programme was attended by the SDPO, DTO of Lohardaga, along with several Hindalco officials and employees.
