The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested seven people, including three employees of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), in connection with a bribery case linked to the Giddi ‘C’ colliery project in Jharkhand. The action came after a complaint alleged that officials were accepting illegal gratification to facilitate unauthorized coal lifting.

Three CCL Employees Among Accused
According to CBI officials, the arrested CCL personnel are Anil Kumar, manager and security officer (mining), clerk Deepak Kumar, and security guard Naresh Kumar. The other four accused have been identified as Mohammad Saddam, Israel Ansari, Mohammad Tabarak, and Arun Lal. Investigators said the accused colluded in taking bribes during road-sale transactions of coal, thereby allowing illegal lifting of the mineral.

Case Registered, Probe Underway
The CBI registered a case and moved swiftly to arrest all seven. They were taken into custody and will be produced before the Special Judge of the CBI court in Ranchi. A plea has also been filed seeking their judicial custody for detailed interrogation. Officials maintained that further investigation could reveal additional names and links in the case.
