Chief Minister Hemant Soren met with a high-level delegation from Tata Motors Ltd at his official residence, focusing on the company’s initiatives in hydrogen engine development and electric truck manufacturing. The delegation presented updates on Tata Motors’ electric vehicle (EV) segment and discussed future strategies for expanding clean mobility solutions across Jharkhand.

Industry-Government Synergy for Future Mobility
The meeting reflected growing synergy between industry and State Government on building a robust EV ecosystem. Analysts believe that Tata Motors’ engagement with Jharkhand could accelerate the setting up of charging infrastructure, hydrogen fuel stations, and manufacturing units, ultimately driving investment and technology adoption in the region.

Focus on Hydrogen and Electric Mobility
During the meeting, Tata Motors’ Global Head for Government Public Affairs, Sushant Chandrakant Naik, briefed the Chief Minister on the company’s ongoing R&D efforts in hydrogen-based powertrains and EV production. He was joined by Vice President of Operations Vishal Badshah, Tata Cummins Plant Head Anitesh Monga, and members from the Government affairs and finance teams. The group explored opportunities for collaboration to scale up the adoption of EV infrastructure and sustainable transport models in the State.
Jharkhand’s Push for Clean Technology
Chief Minister Soren highlighted the State’s commitment to promoting environment-friendly technologies and industrial innovation. He noted that the state is keen to position itself as a hub for clean mobility solutions, aligning with India’s national goals for reducing Carbon emissions. Additional Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, who was present at the meeting, highlighted the Government’s readiness to support projects that create jobs while addressing climate challenges.
