Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI) has been officially granted an exploration licence for the Navatala-Devi Garh Rare Earth Elements (REE) block in Rajasthan. The licence certificate was handed over by Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy during a national symposium organised under the National Mission on Critical Minerals at the Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad.

The licence was formally received by Coal India Chairman P.M. Prasad, CMPDI General Manager (Exploration) Rajeev Kumar Singh, and Senior Manager (Geology) Dr. R.P. Singh. Officials said that this achievement as a significant milestone in CMPDI’s journey as a leading consultancy agency in mineral exploration.

The exploration of the REE block is aligned with national priorities to secure indigenous sources of critical minerals. These resources are vital for high-tech applications, clean energy technologies, and defence manufacturing.
