Jharkhand Cabinet Likely to Table PESA Rules Proposal Today Ahead of Court Deadline
The Jharkhand Cabinet will meet on 12th November, where the long-pending PESA Rules proposal is expected to be tabled. The High Court had granted time until 13th November for implementation, linking the delay to the ongoing halt on sand and minor mineral allocations. The Rural Development Department has already forwarded the proposal for Cabinet approval.
PESA Rules in Final Stage; Panchayati Raj Dept Preparing Report
The formation of Jharkhand’s PESA rules has reached its final stage, with the Panchayati Raj Department compiling a detailed report after receiving feedback from 17 departments. The Welfare, Agriculture, and Revenue Departments have expressed objections. The department is addressing these concerns and will soon resend the revised file to the state cabinet for approval after necessary clarifications.
Ajay Kumar Singh Given Additional Charge of Water Resources Secretary
With Water Resources Secretary Prashant Kumar on leave until 16th November, the Jharkhand Government has assigned his responsibilities, including oversight of the Finance Department and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission, to Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Ajay Kumar Singh. The Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department issued a notification formalizing the temporary charge.
Court Permits IAS Officer Chhavi Ranjan to Visit Tirupati for Son’s Mundan Ceremony
A special PMLA court in Ranchi has allowed suspended IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan, currently out on bail, to travel to Tirupati for his son’s mundan ceremony. The court granted conditional permission from 17th to 21st November, directing him to inform the investigating agency upon return.
Nine Jharkhand DSPs Cleared for Promotion to IPS, 17 Officers Reviewed by UPSC
The UPSC on Monday finalised the promotion of nine Jharkhand DSPs from the JPSC batch to the Indian Police Service (IPS). Seventeen officers were reviewed based on their ACRs during the meeting attended by Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar. Earlier, the DPC scheduled for 12th August was deferred due to the DGP appointment issue. Official notification is awaited.
Chargesheet Filed Against Former Hazaribagh DC Vinay Chaubey in Land Scam Case
The ACB filed a chargesheet against former Hazaribagh DC Vinay Chaubey, businessman Vinay Singh, and others in a major land scam before the Special Vigilance Court. The case involves illegal mutation of government, forest, and Bhoodan lands. Both Chaubey and Singh are in judicial custody and trial proceedings will begin soon.
Jharkhand Foundation Day to Start from Today, Grand Event on 15th Nov
The six-day Jharkhand Foundation Day celebrations begin today in Ranchi with the ‘Run for Jharkhand’ from Morabadi Ground.
