The initiative, launched in 2024 under the company’s “Red to Green” programme, focused on scientifically reclaiming land once considered unfit for plant growth. With structured soil treatment and plantation efforts, the site has evolved into a functioning bio-park. The lease-like barren stretch now features green cover and pathways, reflecting a planned effort to integrate environmental concerns into industrial operations.

Named ‘Torang Vatika’, with “Torang” meaning jungle in the local Jharkhandi dialect, the park is designed to support biodiversity. Early signs of ecological recovery are visible, with birds, reptiles and small species beginning to inhabit the area. The use of bamboo and other natural materials in park structures links the project to the region’s cultural identity while keeping the ecological footprint minimal.
