The Jharkhand Assembly Secretariat organised a farewell ceremony for Joint Secretary Madhukar Bhardwaj, who retired on 31 August after a distinguished service career spanning over three decades. Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahato, MLA Saryu Rai, senior officers and staff members were present to honour his contributions.
Bhardwaj began his career in November 1988 as an assistant in the Bihar Assembly. Following the creation of Jharkhand in November 2000, he joined the new state Assembly Secretariat as a branch officer. Over a service span of 36 years and 9 months, he handled key responsibilities at branch and committee levels in both Bihar and Jharkhand legislatures.

Praised for Integrity and Dedication
In his farewell, Speaker Rabindranath Mahato said Bhardwaj played a vital role in strengthening the functioning of the House and that his expertise in managing legislative business would be remembered. MLA Saryu Rai also praised his honesty and commitment, noting that he had performed his duties with utmost sincerity throughout his career.
Senior officials of the Secretariat and Bhardwaj’s colleagues also spoke at the ceremony, praising his work ethic and contribution to parliamentary administration.
